Clary sage is an architectural biennial that produces large grey-green leaves the first year and flowers the second. It is most often grown in sunny gravel gardens, but can also be grown in partially shaded moisture-retentive soils where it will grow lushly.
'Vatican White' produces candelabras of gorgeous white blossoms in late spring.
