Verbena is a large and variable genus ranging from tiny ground covers to towering beauties. All have clustered flowers that attract hordes of pollinators.

Slender vervain is a perfect evergreen ground cover for warm zones. Pale lilac blooms smother this sweet, but tough plant from early summer through frost. Thrives in poor, hot, dry soil in full sun.

Gardeners in cooler zones: grow this plant as a no-care annual.
