Sisyrinchium californicum | golden blue-eyed grass

Golden blue-eyed grass is an adorable little plant with strappy, iris-like foliage and masses of cheery yellow flowers.

Though this plant is native to freshwater marshes and other low, moist places along the Pacific Northwest coast, it can be grown successfully in the garden, meadow, or rock garden, as long as it never dries out. Self-seeds and naturalizes easily when happy.

Hudson Valley Gardeners: this plant is not hardy here! We have a thing for Sisyrinchiums and overwinter this one in our high tunnel.
