Caltha sagittata | arrow-leaved marigold

ARCHIVED PLANT. This page serves as reference only. We are no longer propagating this plant.

There are only about ten members of the Caltha genus. All grow in moist, boggy conditions and all bloom in spring or summer with typical buttercup flowers. Attractive, glossy green leaves are generally heart or kidney shaped. We adore them all.

Caltha sagittata has arrow-shaped leaves and adorable cream-colored flowers, though it can be shy to flower. It is considered the most robust of the Southern Hemisphere species and has the furthest distribution north.
