Anemone hupehensis var. japonica is a stunningly beautiful yet relatively rare Japanese anemone with pleasing rounded, creamy-pink flowers. This is a striking, tall plant that lights up the fall garden.
Happiest in sun or part shade on moist, fertile soil. Spreads readily when happy.
The name is a bit of a misnomer as this plant actually hails from Western China. Gardens Illustrated published a lovely article about the history and cultivation of Japanese anemones in their September 2024 issue.
