prairie mallow

Sidalcea Malviflora-Hybr. 'Partygirl'

Sidalcea Malviflora-Hybr. 'Partygirl'

A shorter alternative to the Hollyhock, Prairie Mallow are heavy blooming, easy-care North American natives that are much loved by hummingbirds and butterflies. They make a wonderful alternative to hollyhocks where space is limited. Best grown in consistently moist, well-drained soils in full sun, but will tolerate a wider range of conditions.

'Partygirl' features spire-like racemes of small, deep pink flowers.

Tip: prune back hard after blooming for a second flush of flowers in fall; cut back hard again in after fall blooms to help overwinter.
