Phytolacca americana 'Sunny Side Up' | pokeweed

This plant is not currently available, however, propagation is planned/underway. Please sign up for the waitlist below to receive updates on availability.

Pokeweed is one of those funny plants, hated in its native range (southeastern North America) where farmers consider it a nuisance, but much loved by European garden designers. We are trying to learn to love it. Pollinators and birds certainly do.

'Sunny Side Up' has very cool, dramatic, neon yellow foliage. Racemes of white flowers are nice, but they real show comes when the deep purple fruits mature in autumn.

Large, thick taproot is difficult to remove and plants are nearly impossible to relocate once established. Seedlings, however, can easily by moved.
