A North American native woodlander that is a favorite amongst foragers who eat the shoots like asparagus. We prefer to leave the shoots, allowing them to develop into graceful arching stems which are topped by fragrant white flowers in spring. Over summer, the flowers give way to brilliant red berries which may last through fall if not devoured by birds. Green foliage gives way to brilliant yellow as temperatures drop in autumn.
