Helonias bullata | swamp pinks

ARCHIVED PLANT. This page serves as reference only. We are no longer propagating this plant.

Growers note: We are no longer propagating this plant. Germination is easy, but it is a target for every pest in the area and keeping it alive in the nursery has proven too much of a challenge. Viable seed can be sourced from Toadshade Wildflower Farm.

Swamp pinks were native to NYC before the land was drained and built upon. They are now listed on the federally threatened list - talk about rare! Grow these showy evergreen swamp natives on moist, soil in full sun or part shade.
