tall bellflower

Campanula latifolia var. macrantha

Though sometimes considered old-fashioned, Campanula are a favorite genus of ours. We love the seemingly endless varieties of shapes, sizes, and colors. All are easy to grow in full sun, most are lime-lovers, none are too fussy about soil.

Tall Bellflower is extremely showy with long, stiff stems that hold deep blue-purple flowers above sparse foliage. Self-seeds reliably, perhaps too reliably. Remove spent flowers to prevent it from taking over the border.
