Asphodeline lutea
King's Spear is an elegant Mediterranean native that is much loved by butterflies and other pollinators. Tall spikes of fragrant yellow flowers are held above glaucous grassy foliage. Flowers are followed by large round green seed pods.
Long-lived and easy to grow in any well-drained but fertile spot in full sun. Patience required as this plant may take a few years to come into bloom.
