Acer campestre | hedge maple

ARCHIVED PLANT. This page serves as reference only. We are no longer propagating this plant.

Hedge maple is rarely seen in American landscapes, but regularly used in European gardens. It makes for an excellent hedge and has few rivals amongst medium size landscape trees. It has an attractive rounded shape, adorable dainty leaves, and is extremely drought and heat tolerant. As I sit writing this at the end of November, the leaves on our trees are still green and lustrous.
