Burnet (Sanguisorba spp.) are vigorous perennials that steal the show when they burst into bloom. Crimson blooms bob atop tall, sturdy stems. Best grown en masse. 

S. menziesii is the first to bloom in spring. 

S. officinalis is the last to bloom in fall. 

Plant burnet on moist soil in full sun for best results. Stems are sturdy, but blooms can still topple in strong winds. Site burnet next to sturdier plants to prevent flopping.
