formerly Stipa tenuissima

Mexican feathergrass (Nasella tenuissima) is one of the most beautiful ornamental grasses you can grow. Fine, green spring foliage quickly fades to silvery-tan as the weather warms, creating an ethereal effect in the garden.

This southwestern US native is only hard to zone 7, however, we have had success growing it as a perennial in our cold, wet, zone 5 garden in a location with excellent drainage and protection from the coldest winds.
