Foxgloves are the quintessential English cottage garden plant. Most are biennials or short-lived perennials that self-sow like crazy and grow happily in any reasonably fertile soil in sun or shade. Deer and rabbit resistant.
'Spanish Peaks' is a true perennial foxglove with beautiful raspberry-rose flowers. It is more compact than the traditional foxglove but otherwise looks quite similar. This evergreen is easy to grow in dry, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. Do not grow near Digitalis purpurea as plants will hybridize. Reportedly performs well in hot, humid climates.
